The Photonics Research Centre undertakes research in a number of areas of photonics, with a particular emphasis on optical sensing. The Centre is located in the School of Electronic and Communications Engineering at the Dublin Institute of Technology. The Centre is led by its Director and Principle Investigator, Prof. Gerald Farrell and Dr. Yuliya Semenova, supported by a multi-national team of senior and post-doctoral researchers and doctoral graduate students.

 

PRC conducts research and technology development in the areas of

  • Fiber Optic Sensors and its Applications

  • Fiber Optic Systems for Sensing Applications

  • Smart Fiber Structures

  • Liquid crystal filters for sensing applications

  • Modelling of Optical Waveguides

  • Photonic Integrated Circuits

      A high speed passive wavelength measurement system

 

     A low cost all-fiber temperature sensor

 

   

 Consultancy Services
